Excerpts from our last issue

Embracing the Learner Mindset

A team getting derailed three to six months into the school year is highly probable. If the team does not have a shared purpose to remind them of what they are working to achieve, they will eventually retreat to their classrooms, where they can focus on and achieve personal goals. Like many educators, I have found this period extremely challenging, so I have put together some practical tips for us all to avoid pitfalls and thrive despite the current challenges.

In this newsletter I explain how to:

  • Avoid team derailment

  • Define a shared purpose

  • Tackle common communications issues

So, whatever the mood, remember to define your team's purpose and take time to reflect on the progress and lessons learned.

“Identity represents the story that a group tells itself to organize its values and beliefs. A group’s beliefs determine its behavior. Collectively, its behavior affects student learning.”
